The Monash Youth Music Festival
Welcome!
The Monash Youth Music Festival is a significant annual music festival held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People in the leafy City of Monash, Victoria, Australia. This Festival draws well over a thousand young musicians from all over Melbourne each August to compete in forty-nine sections including Ensemble and Choral competitions, solo competitions and non-competitive mini recitals.
This year, our Festival will run from 1 to 22 August 2026.

If you have registered, go to our Checklist page and ensure you are well prepared. Please put your music title and composer into STARDOM, and print off a copy of your music for the Adjudicator.

rehearsal sessions are available in the morning of the Mini Recital Day.

SOLO events are held at the Mount Waverley Uniting Church, 37-43 Virginia St, Mount Waverley and at the Salvation Army Waverley Temple. CHORAL and ENESMBLE sections are held at the Salvation Army Waverley Temple.
You will be sent a Notice of Appearance that says where and when you will perform.
DO NOT BE LATE! An entrant may be disqualified if not ready to perform when called. (See RULE 15).

Our beautiful Festival Programme includes all sections and every performer. Please buy a Programme. They are only $5 each.
All proceeds go to the cost of venue hire, adjudicators and accompanists, and running our Festival.

All entrants must behave with kindness, courtesy, and respect for all other entrants at all times.

NOTE! Entries close for each section when full
Entries close for each section as soon as it is full. Each section has limited capacity, so ensure you register early, and enter all the sections you wish to enter as soon as possible. Once a section is FULL, ⭐Stardom displays "SOLD OUT" and you won't be able to enter that section. Please note that some sections fill up within a few hours after entries have opened, so make sure you enter as soon as you can.

What happens after close of entries?
About 2 or 3 weeks after close of entries, every entrant will receive a Notice of Appearance which will have their session start time.
Please note entrants must arrive to check-in 30 minutes before the session start time. Check-in time closes 10 minutes before session start time.

Family, friends and general public are warmly welcome to watch our "superstars of the future" perform at the Monash Youth Music Festival! Audience admission is by ticket only, and are available from Trybooking as per the links below. Please note that these tickets are only for watching performances, not for entrant registrations!
