2025 Monash Youth Music Festival
Welcome!
The Monash Youth Music Festival is a significant annual music festival held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People in the leafy City of Monash, Victoria Australia. This Festival draws well over a thousand young musicians from all over Melbourne each August to compete in forty-seven disciplines including Ensemble and Choral competitions, solo competitions and non-competitive mini recitals.
Entries to the 2025 MYMF are now closed.
Entries to this year's Festival have now closed. If you have entered this year's Festival, and for whatever reason you won't be able to attend, please let us know immediately. Please note we do NOT give refunds this year (refer to our Rules and Conditions of Entry).
Please await your Notice of Appearance, which should be emailed to you in a week or two. It will say where you will be performing, when, and at what time. Please note that you must be at the venue to check in 30 minutes before the official start time.

Go to our Checklist page and ensure you are well prepared. Please put your music title and composer into STARDOM, and print off a copy for the Adjudicator.

We always need new people to help us continue to thrive, such as a secretary, brass registrar, woodwind registrar, and sponsorships coordinator. The more workers we have, the less work there is to do! CONTACT US today!
When to enter
Registrations open 24 April and close as each section is sold out. All sections close by 22 June so get in early!

Please go to our handy checklist to make sure you have everything in order.
Please update your music title and composer in STARDOM.
Make copies of your sheet music for the adjudicator and accompanist if you are using one.
It is not compulsory, but our accompanists will help make your performance a wonderful experience! Most soloists perform with an accompanist. Contact yours today!
If you are in the Mini Recitals,
rehearsal sessions are available in the morning of the Mini Recital Day.
Where is the Festival?
All SOLO events are held at St Johns Uniting Church, 37-43 Virginia St, Mount Waverley and at the Salvation Army Waverley Temple. CHORAL and ENESMBLE sections are held at the Salvation Army Waverley Temple.

Festival Programme
Our beautiful Festival Programme includes all sections and every performer. Please buy a Programme. They are only $5 each.
All proceeds go to the cost of venue hire, adjudicators and accompanists, and running our Festival.

Community Service Ideas
Looking for International Baccalaureate (IB) CAS community service or Duke of Edinburgh ideas? Why not hold a mini concert for the elderly? Just go to our Performance Opportunities page and fill out the Expression of Interest form. Participating Aged Care facilities are listed there so you can choose one or two closest to you. Perform some of your favourite music for our dear senior citizens!

Entries to this year's Monash Youth Music Festival will close 22 June at 11:59 pm unless sold out. If you wish to be part of this year's Festival, please go to STARDOM and complete your entry very soon.

Please note that we have strict capacity limits in each section and once a section is closed, we cannot accept further entries. To make sure you don't miss out, sign up to our e-News so you will get a reminder when our entries are open. If you don't already have an account in Stardom, register today.
Your appearance on the programme will be randomised this year, so entering first does not mean that you will appear first on the programme, nor does it mean that if you entered just before close of entries that you will perform last!
We don't give refunds, so please be careful when you enter. School events are usually organised very early in the year, so if you have a school event that clashes with the Festival's, please do not expect a refund from the MYMF, but please let us know so we can take your entry out of Stardom and allow someone else to take your place.
What happens after close of entries?
About 2 or 3 weeks after close of entries, every entrant will receive a Notice of Appearance which will have their session start time.
Please note entrants are expected to arrive to check-in 30 minutes before the session start time.

Family, friends and general public are warmly welcome to watch our "superstars of the future" perform at the Monash Youth Music Festival! Audience admission is by ticket only. Please note that these tickets are only for watching performances, not for entrant registrations!
